The Cosmograph “Rainbow” Daytona Reference 116595 RBOW is a spectacular
piece to be treasured and collected, showcasing Rolex’s statement-making design
that makes it mark on the history of haute horology. Rolex first unveiled their Rainbow
Daytona in 2012 in white gold and yellow gold, highly sought after by many but difficult
to acquire even for loyal collectors of Rolex. The Rainbow Daytona 116595 RBOW is
very rare due to Rolex’s high standards in sourcing their materials. This particular
model was launched unexpectedly in 2018, the watch being similar to the previous
versions, but upgraded with 56 diamonds set into the lugs and case. The highlight of
this stunning timepiece is that it has baguette-cut sapphires as the hour index to match
the bezel which is set with 36 internally flawless sapphires merging into each other to
form a rainbow. The smooth black lacquer dial juxtaposes the brilliant colour of the bezel
and sapphire indexes, making the colour stand out even more. The watch is made of
Rolex’s own alloy of pink gold, “Everose” and this beautiful rosy hue is complimented
with the pink-gold crystal sub-dials. It is not surprising that this watch should be so
popular among the masses with its smooth transitional gradient in the bezel and the
sapphire indexes that match the bezel is even easier on the eyes than the previous
models that featured diamond-set indexes. The watch is powered by the automatic
caliber 4130 and is waterproof up to 100m, making it truly a perfect blend of function and
aesthetic.
