Differences Between Fu’s Quotation and Poetry’s Quotation

Abstract:Quotation, as one of the important methods of Fu and poetry creation, presents different features in Fu
and poetry. In the early period, quotation is the transfer from the language art of rhetoric to the technique of literary
writing. The difference between Fu and poetry is mainly reflected in the fact that Fu likes to quote things, while
poetry likes to quote language. Later in the southern and Northern Dynasties, the difference between Fu and poetry is
the method of quotation and the need of literary style. The former is embodied in the complexity of Fu and the
simplicity of poetry. The latter is embodied in Fu’s use of quotation to describe the appearance of objects, and
poetry’s use of quotation to express one’s ambition. When it comes to Yu Xin’s quotations, it is the culmination of a
previous era. Starting from the substitution of quotation itself, and the function definition of testimony. His paper
reinterprets the application of quotation in Fu and poetry, and both show the characteristics of the unity of narrative
theory and lyric.

The Compilation of Peiwen Yunfu and the Construction of Qing
Dynasty’s Official Poetic Discourse

Abstract:The compilation of Peiwen Yunfu provides a suitable field for contemplating the construction of
official poetic discourse in the Qing Dynasty. It unfolded under the wave of “exhaustive concentration” of
knowledge that rose in the early Qing Dynasty. It serves a product and an intensification of this wave. The unfolding
process brought about the fusion of multiple poetic discourses. Among them, the fusion of poetic discourses between
Emperor Kangxi and Zha Shenxing is the most representative, which demonstrates that individual cultural activities
can still have a considerable degree of subjectivity even in the realm of official \"interference\" in the whole process.
As a carrier of official poetics discourse, Peiwen Yunfu is quite a concentrated expression of the officialization of
individual poetics discourse. Its publication and circulation process did not involve too much official power,
reflecting a positive model in which official poetics discourse exerts influence.
